ISLAMABAD: The Network for Consumer Protection and Consumers International introduced sabzbijli.pk on World Environment Day; it was Pakistan’s first-ever integrated website for advice and help with comparing solar and other types of clean energy, along with finding reliable suppliers. Globally, homeowners spent $184 billion on clean energy last year. Pakistan has developed this platform recently.
On World Environment Day Friday, June 6, 2026, The Network for Consumer Protection, along with Consumers International, unveiled the first consumer-oriented clean energy one-stop-shop platform of its kind in Pakistan. The launch of the Pakistan clean energy one-stop-shop sabzbijli takes place at a time when households and small businesses all over the country are being confronted with higher prices of electricity, higher energy insecurity, and an emerging interest in solar power. The Pakistan clean energy one-stop-shop sabzbijli brings together the historically fragmented, deceptive, and at times fraudulent, consumer energy market.
What sabzbijli.pk Really Does
The Pakistan solar energy one-stop shop sabzbijli allows consumers to visit only one point for all their needs regarding adopting solar energy. Consumers can gather independent information on solar energy systems, calculate cost benefits based on their unique requirements, compare different technologies against each other, learn about financial arrangements, and get in touch with reputable and vetted providers and installers. The website design takes into consideration the three weaknesses that have been preventing Pakistani consumers from adopting solar energy – lack of information, lack of trust, and uncertainty about finances.
The system is designed for residential consumers and small enterprises — and not big business and industry. As a guiding principle, the ease of use takes precedence over the comprehensiveness of the information offered, because most Pakistani consumers who wish to move towards solar power generation simply do not have enough technical knowledge to differentiate between conflicting claims offered by vendors, enough financial acumen to understand the intricacies of solar financing instruments, and sufficient knowledge of laws to defend themselves in case installations go awry.
Consumers are spending more than the government on energy sustainability initiatives
The launch of the clean energy “one stop shop” initiative by Pakistan is based on an important global study by Consumers International where it has been discovered that consumers spend almost twice the money which governments spend on initiatives for mitigating climate change. The study states that consumers around the world spent roughly $184 billion on such initiatives in just one year.

The energy crisis in Pakistan calls for urgent action.
Electricity prices in Pakistani households have increased significantly in the last two years due to payment for capacity charges, high LNG import costs, and tariff hikes within the framework of the IMF program. The same factors that contributed to the creation of an electricity crisis have created opportunities for a wave of solar panel installations in Pakistan; customers are ready to invest their resources into renewable energy solutions because they want to save on their electricity costs. The only thing that people were missing was an authoritative resource that could help them choose among available providers.
Policy Engagement and What Comes Next
It would be remiss of TheNetwork to restrict its efforts on clean energy policy to the customer-focused platform. TheNetwork intends to involve policymakers, regulators, consumers, and all other interested parties, including those from the industry and development partners, in developing policies that focus on consumer interests and encourage consumer involvement in the clean energy transition of Pakistan. Such a focus on policy is essential because even the best-designed consumer platform can only do well in a system that fails to offer consumer protection.
Among the notable participants of the event were Imtiaz Hussain Baloch, Hussain Jarwar, Mir Ahmad Shah, Dr. Zagum, and Dr. Omais Abdur Rehman, whose combined expertise was directed towards examining the nexus between renewable energy, policy, consumer awareness, and climate change in Pakistan. From this, it can be inferred that sabzbijli.pk is more than a mere launch of a website since the participation of these eminent persons suggests that it has institutional backing for its mission to transform consumer behavior towards renewable energy.
