LAHORE: Pakistan’s first-ever Sky Glass Bridge in Kotli Sattian with an objective to boost tourism in the country has been approved by CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

A Transparent Future: Glass Bridges and Trains
The Sky Glass Bridge in Kotli Sattian will offer sweeping views of the Pir Panjal Range, drawing tourists and boosting the local economy. The chief minister has also set a one-month deadline to begin construction of the much-anticipated Glass Train in Murree.

Punjab Sky Glass Bridge Boosts Luxury Tourism Plans
To accommodate a new tier of international and local travelers, the government has designated three new hospitality zones in Shawala, Sozo, and Brewery. These zones will host five-star standard hotels through private-sector collaborations.
For those who prefer a closer connection to nature, the CM approved:
- Chewra Hill Glamping Pods: A state-of-the-art pod village managed by private experts.
- Bansera Gali Zoological Garden: An eco-friendly zoo featuring a bear house, tiger house, and a massive bird aviary.
- New Urban Parks: Three new parks – Angoori Road Park, MIT Park and Ariari Park will give new age options for entertainment for all families.
Safety and Sustainability: The Key Issues
Beyond new tourism projects, officials also addressed long-standing issues in the area. The Punjab government is consulting global experts to tackle landslides and the “mid-way downhill effect.” It aims to improve living conditions in Chatta Mor, Darya Gali, and Jhika Gali.
The authorities hope to conduct a feasibility study on the bulk water supply project utilizing the Jhelum River up until the end of April.
Empowerment of the Local Community
Punjab has also established a new Facility Management Unit. The unit will oversee building maintenance and improve how the government manages public infrastructure. With CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif demanding swift action, the obvious future of Punjab’s hills seems very bright and modern indeed.
