LAHORE: Ali Pervez Malik, who serves as the Federal Minister for Petroleum, has revealed that Turkish Petroleum’s offshore drilling operations will soon commence in Pakistan’s territorial waters. According to statements provided by the Minister in the city of Lahore, significant investments will be forthcoming once the offshore drilling activities have commenced. During the event held in Lahore, the minister discussed various issues related to Pakistan’s energy industry and regional dynamics.
While addressing the ceremony, Ali Pervez Malik highlighted that the PML-N is committed to practicing pragmatic politics and attributed the nuclear prowess of the nation to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The statement comes amid a significant development concerning Pakistani offshore drilling operations of Turkish Petroleum.
Malik emphasized that Pakistan’s status as a nuclear state lies at the core of the PML-N’s political ideology.

While admitting that resources were constrained, he assured that all efforts had been undertaken to ensure that the citizens received help and were protected against increasing prices for oil products. According to him, "Petrol is expensive" but noted that "there was never any problem with supply" of fuels in the country. Comparatively speaking, citizens living in nearby nations receive just 2 liters of petrol after showing identity cards.
