It took only three minutes for the disappearance of radar and radio contact to occur after the first report of malfunctioning. The fast downward movement and the change in direction that occurred at 9:21 PM, which was three minutes from the time the first navigation problem was reported, point to an immediate failure in the aircraft’s systems.

Search Operation On

The joint operation being carried out in the seas west of Karachi to search for and rescue is faced with tough conditions. The Arabian Sea around this particular area consists of great distances from the coast, great depths of water, and the complexity of organizing maritime assets that will conduct the search within the vast area marked only by the last radar position of the aircraft.

Search and rescue for missing aircraft over open waters are one of the toughest emergencies to respond to by any country’s emergency agencies. The 155 nautical miles away from Karachi ensures that the search area is way off in open seas and will be very tough for many short-range search assets to cover.

The rescue mission for the missing cargo aircraft of K2 Airways is being done by the Pakistan authorities. The latest news will come up as the search is in progress.
