LAHORE: Pakistan's influential couple Patangeer, consisting of Amtul Baweja and Fahad Tariq, is all set to host Pakistan's first-ever Influencer Awards, marking a momentous occasion for the development of Pakistan's emerging digital content creation sector. The couple made this announcement in an Instagram reel, recalling their journey within the same community that they would soon be celebrating on such a grand scale.
Baweja mentioned in her speech that the couple had spent eight years creating content and had become an integral part of the "amazing community" of digital creators and influencers. Recalling their journey thus far, she said that they hadn't imagined back then that one day, they would be standing on stage representing their community and conducting the first ever Pakistan Influencer Awards.
The Pakistan Influencer Awards were launched by Baweja as "a great way to honor Pakistani content creators and all the work we have been doing in the last few years," according to his own definition of the event, indicating how this award ceremony is entirely homegrown in nature, initiated by creators themselves and not any external party.
The Pakistan Influencer Awards will be held on November 7, providing the industry with an official timeline as preparations gear up ahead of the event.

The concept was launched last month when the chief curator of the project, Talha Asim, addressed attendees and highlighted that there is a need to create certain "guardrails" that would help develop a sustainable culture of content creation in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Influencer Awards are set to present more than 30 distinct categories, which include 'Creator of the Year' and 'Emerging Creator' distinctions awarded across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The organizers have also planned to give separate category-based accolades to creators involved in niche-specific work ranging from lifestyle, beauty, fashion, travel, fitness, entertainment, gaming, parenting, music, and many others.
Pakistan Influencer Awards: A Multi-Stage Selection Process
Selection of award recipients will take place via a rigorous, multi-tiered selection process. Initially, the top 20 creators making the cut for each award category would be filtered using an algorithmic model. Market surveys will then verify these outcomes. Thereafter, a panel comprising experienced content creators will evaluate and finalize nominations within each category to arrive at the top 10 candidates.
In a later round, another jury consisting of members associated with the marketing and advertising sector will select the top five contenders in each category. After finalizing the nominations, they will be handed over for voting by the general audience via an online poll scheduled for October, allowing them to decide the ultimate winner of the inaugural Pakistan Influencers Awards ceremony.
Following the appointment of Amtul Baweja and Fahad Tariq as the hosts for the ceremony, the Pakistan Influencer Awards emerge as an important milestone towards institutionalized recognition in Pakistan’s creator economy sector. With the creator economy continuing to grow in Pakistan, the establishment of these awards can prove crucial in developing a long-lasting structure in the future.
