Arshad Nadeem Books Spot in Commonwealth Games Javelin Final

The men’s javelin throw event of the Commonwealth Games saw the Arshad Nadeem in javelin final, Arshad Nadeem, qualify himself for the final rounds through his performance in the qualifying rounds by coming seventh with a throw of 78.63 meters. It can therefore be said that there is some hope of winning a medal for Pakistan as despite poor performances in the qualifying rounds, they have managed to qualify for the final rounds.

No player was able to qualify himself on the basis of the automatic qualification standard of 84 meters in the qualifying rounds through three throw rounds, thus resulting in an automatic qualification of the top 12 throwers for the final rounds irrespective of any specific distance being covered by the players.

Ramesh Tharanga from Sri Lanka threw an excellent performance in the qualifying round in throwing a distance of 82.84 meters. Anderson Peters from Grenada came second with 81.29 meters while the third position was held by Douw Smit from South Africa with a throw distance of 80.64 meters. Ben East from England took the fourth position while Neeraj Chopra from India got the fifth position with throw distances of 80.38 meters and 79.61 meters respectively.

The sixth position was won by MacEntyre from Australia with a throw distance of 78.91 meters ahead of Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan with a throw distance of 78.63 meters. This is a clear indication that the qualifying round was quite a tough round since there was only a very small difference in their throw distances.

As Nadeem continued to improve his position, his compatriot, Yasir Sultan, failed to secure himself a place in the finals, as he ranked 14th overall with a throw of 74.36 meters. This means that the medal aspirations of the country in this event will depend completely on Nadeem.

Now that the qualification is done, it's time for the finals where Arshad Nadeem is expected to do a lot better than he did in his qualification race. The reason for this is that the other participants in the finals will be some of the best javelin throwers in the world today, such as Neeraj Chopra and Anderson Peters. Given his past performance, Pakistani spectators are hoping for a much better show from Nadeem at this crucial juncture.
