PNS Taimur of Pakistan Navy carries out a successful search and PNS Taimur Rescues Fishermen in which 19 fishermen are saved. It clearly shows that the Pakistan Navy is always ready for such missions in the seas around the coast of Pakistan.

The fishing boat was reported to be stranded some 120 nautical miles to the south of Gwadar owing to engine problems that left the occupants unable to return to the shore under their own steam. The number of persons stranded in the fishing boat totaled 19, consisting of 11 Pakistanis and 8 Iranians, indicating that fishing operations in the area are indeed an international affair.

PNS Taimur Rescued Fishermen commenced when the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Center got in touch with the Pakistan Navy asking for a rescue mission for the stuck ship. The cooperation between maritime surveillance entities and navy was crucial in initiating an appropriate response when it came to rescuing the boat.

Upon arrival at the stranded vessel, Pakistani Navy officers supplied food, drinking water, and first aid services to the stranded individuals. In this way, the basic needs of the individuals on board were met, while at the same time arrangements for the rescue of the vessel were being made.

PNS Taimur rescues fishermen Boat Safely Towed to Shore

As part of the last phase of the rescue operation, the Pakistan Navy ensured that the stuck vessel was safely towed back to shore, since it was still not able to sail on its own due to engine problems. As a result of the successful completion of the mission, all 19 people who were present on board managed to return home safely.

This operation conducted by PNS Taimur highlights the continuous effort of Pakistan Navy in conducting maritime safety operations in North Arabian Sea, an area which is used by fishing boats belonging to Pakistan as well as other neighboring nations. Engine failure and other technical problems are always a threat to the fishermen working in remote areas of the sea, thus such responses play a crucial role in providing maritime security.
