ISLAMABAD: In a significant step towards reinforcing its relationship with Bangladesh and encouraging regional academic collaboration, Pakistan is set to launch an extensive scholarship scheme for students from Bangladesh. Through this new initiative, referred to as the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, the Government of Pakistan will offer scholarships to 500 students of Bangladesh in five years’ time.
This initiative represents an important milestone in the foreign relationship between these two countries of South Asia through the empowerment of their youth via education.
Rebuilding Bridges Through Education
As per the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the concept of the project had been introduced in August 2025. Phase Two Officially Underway
It is a very ambitious project which has quickly graduated from being merely a proposal to becoming reality. According to reports by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Phase 2 of Knowledge Corridor was inaugurated successfully on May 10, 2026, in Dhaka.
In order to make the working structure of this stage firm, a delegation from Bangladesh has come to visit Pakistan. The delegation would remain in Pakistan for around three weeks to visit some of the country’s major universities, meet their councils, and work on selection criteria for the new batch of students. Such a practical approach guarantees the alignment of the scholarship scheme with the requirements of the Bangladeshi youth.
“The Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor is not just financial aid; it is a manifestation of the joint desire to excel academically and create peace in the region.” Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A Positive Trajectory for Bilateral Ties

The government expects that the 500 scholarships will cater to different areas of study, which include medical science, engineering, information technology, and social sciences. The country is determined to use the opportunity to present itself not only academically but also as a nation that adds to the human resource development of Bangladesh.
Both countries look forward to the arrival of the students as they end their three-week visit.
