For the very first time, Meta will be using its name to create a new pair of smart glasses without using Ray-Ban’s name. Its price has reduced by $80 and its artificial intelligence brain has been significantly upgraded.
Meta recently unveiled its biggest play in the game of AI smart glasses to date. The firm released its first ever AI smart glasses branded under Meta itself, ending the practice of naming its wearables as collaboration brands Ray-Ban or Oakley, and slashing their cost by $80.
New Meta Glasses come for a price starting from $299. It is quite low when compared to Ray-Ban smart glasses that begin with a price tag of $379. The price difference from the previous year’s Display models by Ray-Ban is even more drastic.
Three Frame Designs Without the Brand Name of an Eyewear Manufacturer
There are the Meta Adventurer and Meta Fury models which both come at $299, and also there is a model called the Meta Glasses by Kylie which is priced at $399 and is created in cooperation with Kylie Jenner. The latter has a slim and oval frame, which resembles Kylie’s personal design, a charging box with a mirror built into it, and Meta AI speaking in Kylie’s voice. Meta Glasses in 26 variations of color and frame designs altogether will be on sale.
Muse Spark – Meta’s First Closed Weighted AI Model
All the models come preloaded with Muse Spark which is the first AI release by Meta Superintelligence Labs and marks the first closed-weighted AI model for Meta; intentionally different from the open-source Llama series that established the Meta name in the AI industry. There are three operating modes for the model; Instant, Thinking, and Contemplating.
Meta says Muse Spark is capable of doing what Llama 4 Maverick does but for one-tenth of the computing power costs. This update has now been added to the existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta Glasses in the US and Canada.

What These Smart Glasses Do
Much like earlier versions of Meta smart glasses, these also have features of hands-free photography, music streaming, live language translations, as well as conversational AI, with which users can question things and places through the use of built-in cameras. The battery will work for eight hours, but the provided carrying case allows one to get an additional 40 hours of battery time.

Why Meta is Taking This Bet
Meta is leading the market in terms of smart glasses sales, having sold around 76.1 percent of the 9.6 million units sold across the globe last year, IDC says. There is no actual $299 smart glasses alternative on the market right now – neither Apple nor Google have launched their products yet.
Meta Glasses are currently available at Meta.com, Lenscrafters, Sunglass Hut, Best Buy, and Amazon, providing a much more affordable way into AI wearables for consumers.
