ISLAMABAD: Pakistan brought out iPhone 5G before schedule this week. Prior to the anticipated year of 2027, which most experts thought would be the period when 5G technology would hit the market, Pakistan was able to do so before schedule. In this case, Zong and Jazz companies are ready to use 5G in their territories.
This advancement is important not just from a technical standpoint. Apple can enable 5G via the carriers themselves using specific carrier settings instead of having it depend on whether or not the device itself supports 5G. This means that the iPhone 5G Pakistan wasn’t even an option until Zong and Jazz had reached the appropriate carrier deals and infrastructure to make it happen. Other solutions like spoofing and jailbreaking never worked.
How Does Zong Provide 5G for iPhone in Pakistan?
At present, Zong is using the iOS 26.5 Public Beta to provide 5G support for iPhone. To utilize 5G, users will need to join the Apple Beta Software Program through Safari, install it on their device, and manually turn on either “5G Auto” or “5G On.”
The performance statistics coming out of the initial testing of iPhone 5G in Pakistan near Zong towers provide very exciting numbers. The speed tests show speeds between 244 Mbps and 290 Mbps, which places Pakistan in the middle of other countries who have been using 5G services for the last few years.

This shows that there is serious commercial commitment on the part of Zong and not a trial run.
Jazz Launches 5G iPhone Pakistan Service in Major Cities
For its 5G iPhone Pakistan launch, Jazz went for an alternative route. In contrast, the service provider directly notified users about the fact that installing the new iPhone OS will allow them to use the 5G network because the activation will become much easier than completing the beta-testing program for Zong’s subscribers.
At present, Jazz has set up about 180 pilot 5G locations in all of the important cities of Pakistan. The activation of the 5G connection will depend upon the activation of the 5G settings by the user in the area where the 5G coverage is available. Jazz has activated 5G capabilities for a number of Samsung Galaxy handsets, indicating that it views multiple device 5G support as commercially important, not just an iPhone-centric effort.
PTA Spectrum Auction that Enabled This to Happen
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s March 2026 spectrum auction created the conditions that will bring iPhone 5G Pakistan to market — establishing the licensed frequency framework Apple needs before enabling 5G on iPhones in any new territory. In this context, PTA sold spectrum valued at 480 MHz for 5G network usage in several frequency bands, generating revenue of $507 million.
The list of spectrums offered by Jazz has expanded to include spectrums operating in 700 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3500 MHz bands, which forms a good combination to ensure that there is both wide coverage and good throughput capacity. While Ufone acquired some spectrum through the auction, they have not announced yet that iPhones can use their 5G network.
What Pakistan iPhone 5G Users Should Know Right Now
There is one aspect about iPhone 5G Pakistan that stands out as especially positive for users from a commercial perspective. The current 4G data plans continue to work perfectly fine within the 5G networks without needing any other subscription. An iPhone user who already has an iPhone capable of running the latest network technology along with a Jazz or Zong SIM can instantly enjoy its speed benefits.
